Abstract

Malaysia's traditional arts and crafts are as vibrant and diverse as the country's multicultural history. Back in the day, the old-timer craftsmen and artisans produced different types of arts and crafts. They express themselves using a variety of methods and natural assets and come up with such an elegant and delicate work of art.

In this short documentary, you will find a selected three different kinds of Malaysian traditional arts and crafts which are Wau Bulan, Gasing Uri, and also Rebana Perak. The main purpose of the documentary is to educate Malaysian especially the younger generation on preserving the traditional arts and crafts by acknowledging the history of the crafts, the uniqueness of each type of the arts, the challenges faced by the artisans, the thoughts and hopes from them and also the importance of keeping the traditional arts and crafts in Malaysia alive and to be carried to the next generation.
