Abstract
This paper studies the extent of Internet connectivity and
usage among Southeast Asian libraries and how many of them are using the Internet to provide electronic information resources and services through their homepages. It also presents a case study of the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Library's strategy in promoting the use of the Internet among the university's academicians and students. Some of the steps taken include developing their homepage into a gateway to electronic resources in the library and on the Internet and conducting subject-specific training workshops geared towards the needs of academicians and researchers.
