Heritage-v | pantun melayu tradisional. [Video] (2021)
Abstract
Our vlogmentary is on Malay practice known as Pantun. Pantun is a traditional poem popular in South East Asia especially among the Malay society. Pantun is a short poem and is based on two lines of sentence with same rhyme at the end of the sentence. Pantun also can be found in four, six and eight line but usually, Pantun are formed in four line. Pantun has its own uniqueness and was originally formed by Malay society without any influence from other races. It was different with other poems such as Syair, Syair had received influence from Arabic culture. For this vlog, we interviewed Puan Rohaidah Yon, a literature teacher from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tun Ismail, Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, Johor.
