Abstract
Osteoporosis is defined as a skeletal disorder characterised by compromised bone strength predisposing a person to an increased risk of fracture. Bone strength reflects the integration of bone density and bone quality. Bone density (g/cm2 or g/cm3) is determined by peak bone mass and amount of bone loss. Bone quality refers to the architecture, turnover, damage accumulation, and mineralisation of the bone.
