Abstract

Gout is an ancient disease as it was well described by Hippocrates in the 5th century BC. Desoite the availability of effective medications, there are many patients who still suffer from recurrent attacks of acute gout, chronic tophaceous gout and renal calculi. Some patients go on to develop renal failure.
