Abstract
Kompang Musical Tradition
Our vlogmentary discover the heritage Malay Music Tradision which is Kompang . As you know Drums kompang is a type of traditional musical instruments such as drum for the Malay community. Usually Kompang has played in wedding ceremony and gathering.
Kompang is made from goat skin where goat skin is applied to the surface of the kompang called the bone. The kompang has a framed baluh made of hard wood.
The kompang making process need to ensure that the sound to be produced reaches the set of standards. In the manufacturing process there are 6 steps that need to be carried out to produce kompang
So, to complete our vlogmentary video. We have interview the Kompang makers which is Mr. Moktar in Batu Pahat, Johor to know more about the challenges and the process on making Kompang instruments.
