Abstract
It has always been widely accepted that fruits and vegetables are "good for you" and now substantial scientific data are available to support a close association between fruit and vegetable consumption with various health outcomes. The benefit of fruits and vegetables cannot be attributed to a single or mix of nutrients and bioactive substances.
