Abstract

Nutrition is one of the important indicators to measure growth and development of children. Children are considered as a vulnerable group, especially children with special
needs(CWSN). According to the Persons with Disabilities Act (2008), CWSN can be referred as those who have long term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which
interact with various barriers that may hinder their full and effective participation in society. The most common conditions for CWSN are Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral
Palsy and learning disabilities. The number of new casesfor CWSN aged 0 to 18 years old as registered with the Social Welfare Department were 103,420 people in 2016 (Department
of Social Welfare Malaysia, 2016).
