Abstract
The preoperative evaluation holds the potential to reduce complications and health carecosts.2 Many hospitals globally have preoperative evaluation centers through which many
multidisciplinary health care providers with clinical experience in preoperative care can apply a uniform and consistent preoperative evaluation to all surgical patients.2 These centers have demonstrated reductions in surgery cancellation rates, consultation times, costs, the use of preoperative laboratory tests, and improved adherence to perioperative practice guidelines and patient education.
