Abstract

Malaysia is blessed with geographical and climate conditions that allow the small hydro power (SHP) industry to flourish. The earliest SHP scheme (700kW) was implemented in Sungai Gombak, Selangor, back in 1905. The SHP Sg. Sempam (1.2MW) installed in Raub, Pahang in 1927, is still running, albeit with some upgrading works.
