#TECH: NEC bullish about demand for biometric authentication technology solutions. [Newspaper] (2022)
Abstract
WE'VE use it when doing over-the-counter transactions at banks, at the airport immigration gates, at certain office access, and that's about it, but according to technology vendor NEC, the biometric authentication technology has promising outlook. The Japanese company, recently organised a tour of its Customer Experience Centre to show how the technology will be able to benefit users as well as businesses. The company sees the use of biometric authentication technology, such as fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, iris recognition, will go beyond what we normally see, into areas like e-commerce, city/building surveillance, access control, etc.
