Abstract
Construction sector has always been an important component of the overall economy for many countries. For example, it is one of the main pillars supporting the Malaysian economy as a whole. To the Government of Malaysia, construction projects is often used as a mechanism for streamlining the country’s infrastructure, distributing the economic wealth,
developing the middle class entrepreneurs contractors, upgrading the social well being and also as an effective method of increasing public spending to stimulate the growth of the economy. All these are implemented through the continous funding of public projects. It is often
understood that when public projects are being implemented, the private counterparts in the construction industry are benefitting too.
