Development of design guideline for rural low volume roads in Malaysia. Jurnal Jabatan Kerja Raya Malaysia. pp. 29-35. (2013)

Abstract

The road network is a very important asset and acts as an enabler to the economic and social development of a country. In today’s world of globalization, the provision of good road network and infrastructure will enhance the nation’s competitiveness and maintain an edge over its competitions. In Malaysia, the economic contribution by the road network is enormous as it carries about 96% of transported goods and
passengers. Conservation of the road asset condition is
therefore very crucial to ensure the network continues to be effective and serves its functions to the required quality standards throughout its lifetime.
