Accreditation of coastal hydraulic software: are we ready? In: 5th IEM Water Resources Colloquium, 5 July 2003, IEM, P.J.. (2003)
Abstract
There has been a proliferation of coastal hydraulic software packages, both commercial and public domain, in recent years. Users, be they consulting engineers undertaking a hydraulic study for a proposed project, or clients/project proponents who wish to ascertain the cost implications
of their ventures, or regulatory agencies who would like to be apprised of the associated environmental impacts, are therefore overwhelmed by a plethora of seemingly similar software products that could cost from practically nothing (save for the professional and computing costs) to millions of Ringgit Malaysia (the entire system comprising all the modules) in terms of procurement outlay.
