Abstract

The question of A Greener Tomorrow has been widely debated in the discussion for our future cities. Scholars as well as practitioners in the built environment continue to ponder the best strategies to conceptualize-greener public spaces in enhancing the quality of life.
Landscape Architecture, widely known for its stand on green issues and sustainability has stepped beyond simply the physical beauty of parks and gardens. The discipline has ventured into innovations in sustainability, seeking new ideas for the benefit and the advancement of the built environment.
Many researches have focused on green issues in the built environment. However, these articles have not sufficiently addressed the issue of life between buildings. This paper will discuss public spaces in enhancing our quality of life. It will focus on the importance of outdoor spaces as a learning environment. It will specifically discuss a study done in the Faculty of Design and Architecture, Universiti Putra Malaysia as a green outdoor learning environment that
also supports green edu-tourism.
