Abstract

The large scale solar (LSS) programme tender will be closed at the end of this month and will be announced in January next year which will pave the way for the construction of new solar farms. Tender winners need six months to finalize financing with the bank. After that the installation work will start around July 2025, and currently the solar industry players need around 60,000 workers to ensure their project is completed by December 2025. What are the major challenges faced by the solar industry in this context and what are the current challenges or limitations in Malaysia's clean energy infrastructure that need to be addressed to fully harness its potential?
