Abstract
Kadazandusun is a community that love singing activities. The scenario can be seen obviously with the increasing number of Kadazandusun songs which are also shared on social sites such as Youtube. The tendency towards these cultural activities must have an impact on this society. Therefore, this paper explores the educational values applied in the song entitled Oi Gidi sung by John Gaisah. Data were obtained through literature review and analyzed using
content analysis model. The analysis of the study found that this song inculcates the educational value such as love, respect and appreciate the mother as a human being who has
given birth and raised a child. The moral education is inculcated through the attitudes, behaviours and expression of feelings narrated in the song. The application of the moral education reflects the advancement of the civilization and the dignity of the child towards a mother. Such education can produce a generation that respects and appreciates the mother in line with the proverb ‘paradise lies beneath of the mother’s feet’.
