Melittopalynological studies of stingless bees from the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Melittopalynological Studies of Stingless Bees from the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. pp. 1-13. (2017)
Abstract
tingless bees are known to be pollinators in Southeast Asian tropical rainforest (Eltz et al. 2002) and also good candidates for providing pollination services in agricultural ecosystems (Heard 1999; Slaa et al. 2006). Malaysia is home to a moderate number and diversity of stingless bee species that forage on various plants and veg-etation zones including grasses, herbs, forest trees and cultivated plants. There are approxi-mately 33 species that have been recorded so far in Peninsular Malaysia which varied in body sizes ranging from 2 to 14 mm (Mohd Norowi et al. 2008)
