Abstract
It is common for manufacturers to claim their products are environmentally friendly. However, as consumers, can we ascertain that they really are? The only way is to refer to products certified by SIRIM Eco-Labelling Scheme. These products not only receive independent verification that they were manufactured according to certain environmentally friendly criteria and quality processes, but have also been tested against a pre-set green criterion. There are a number of products that are widely used in economic activities that have a major impact, if not controlled. Some examples of these products include paint, plastics, detergents, chemicals, and paper. The presence of eco-labels helps to protect our environment towards a green, sustainable future. Beyond the meticulous process of SIRIM Eco-Labelling Scheme, including testing and quality, the process actually helps to enhance and recognise your brand as an effective green image for the company and also as an easy reference tool for consumers.
