Abstract
“This marks the inaugural Persatuan Pengkarya Pemuzik Anak Melanau (PAMM) event dedicated to recognising Melanau artistes and composers,” said Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine.
“Through this recognition, we can appreciate the various methods and approaches used to preserve Melanau culture and heritage, particularly through their music,” he said to reporters at the AJLM finale Saturday night (Jan 27). He said there have been remarkable achievements in the Melanau music industry, attributing them to a blend of talents across different generations.“The competition, featuring 12 songs, showcased incredible creativity from both young and seasoned artistes. Each song exemplified the unique talent of Melanau composers and artistes.
