Abstract
The study on the traditional craft art of the Melanau people in Sarawak, name as Serahang Kakan Kaul. Serahang is a traditional Melanau art that has existed for a long time but has received little attention in the community. This is because, serahang will only be produced at the Kaul Festival for the ritual ceremony of the Melanau pagan. So it is less prominent like other cultural objects such as bemban mats, pua kumbu or other traditional crafts. Therefore, this study was made to help unravel the true meaning behind the art of serahang, in addition to recognizing who is the makers that have been producing this artwork for decades.
