Abstract
Hazardous waste is extremely dangerous and critical to manage, since the process for treatment will involve heavy metals and dioxin among others. The effects constituents are the most critical components to health and environment. In Malaysia, for the last three decades, the waste management has been a main priority to the government. Policies are made to minimize and manage
hazardous waste. This paper will discuss the present status of sustainable hazardous waste management in Malaysia from the perspective of legislation frameworks, applied technology and the volumes produced.
