Lee: Sabah and Sarawak should match penalties for animal abuse. [Newspaper] (2018)

Abstract

Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye has called for Sabah and Sarawak enactments to be reviewed and amended so that stiffer penalties can be meted out against animal abusers. The SPCA Selangor patron said although the Animal Welfare Act 2015 came into force on July 1 last year, it could not be applied in Sabah and Sarawak as both states had their own enactments to address the issue.
