Abstract

This project highlights the development of nuseri and arboratum gardens of herbaceous and rare trees in Paya bungor, Gambang Pahang which aims to conserve and collect collections of herbaceous and rare trees from all over Malaysia including endangered species of herbaceous and rare trees. The collection of these herbal and rare species will be a source of information and reference for researchers from all over Malaysia and will be an attraction to ecotourism that will develop around the Paya Bungor area and will benefit Taman AgroSemuji Resort in Gambang. The development in the Paya Bungor area is expected to attract many tourists and further create ecotourism in the area. The development of modern and innovative herbal tree nurseries is also able to breed and supply quality and healthy herbal and rare herbs to researchers in Malaysia and the local community. From the phase 1 project, the research area in Paya Bungor has been divided into 6 blocks and for this 2nd phase, the focus is on blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. A total of 475 herbaceous and rare trees have been planted in the area. Paya Bungor including 100 collections of durian trees have also been planted on plot 1. A nursery complete with drip irrigation system and spray and shading has been built and is expected to be able to reproduce and multiply the existing herbaceous and rare trees in Paya Bungor.
