Abstract
KUCHING: More intense research and development should be done on the use of sago starch for food processing so the products can be exported as traditional snacks, said Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong. Mah noted that in Sarawak, ‘tebaloi’ or sago biscuit and roasted sago pearls – the proud legacies and delicacies of the Melanau – have great potential to be exported and become a source of income for the rural community.
