SAP supportive of MyDIGITAL initiative to further grow Malaysia's digital economy. [Newspaper] (2021)
Abstract
KUALA LUMPUR: The MyDIGITAL initiative, which comes under the National Digital Economy Blueprint, is set to further grow Malaysia's digital economy into a strategic economic engine of growth, said SAP Malaysia managing director Hong Kok Cheong. Hong commended the government for this 'breakthrough yet realistic' digital vision which would enhance the economy while improving quality of living amongst Malaysians. As announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the initiative is anticipated to contribute 22.6 per cent of Malaysia's gross domestic product (GDP), while creating 500,000 new jobs. "The combination of 5G capabilities with latest technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, advanced analytics and blockchain will support the digital transformation of many Malaysian industries," said Hong.
