Abstract
A new law has been gazetted to allow the Finance Ministry, Menteri Besar or Chief Minister to approve any supplementary expenditure or withdrawal from the Consolidated Fund without having to go through the Dewan Rakyat or the state legislative assembly during this emergency. The law called the Emergency (Essential Powers) (Amendment) Ordinance allows for the disbursement of aid during the pandemic recovery period.
