Abstract

Terdapat dua spesies utama lebah kelulut iaitu Heterotrigona itama (H. itama) dan Geniotrigona thoracica (G. thoracica) yang diternak secara komersial di negara ini untuk tujuan madu, propolis serta roti lebah.Lebih 90 peratus daripada usahawan di Malaysia menumpukan kepada spesies H. itama kerana ia lebih mudah dikendalikan.
