Malaysia mencatat kejayaan dalam laporan Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) 2019 apabila pelajar Tingkatan Dua julung kalinya memperoleh skor melebihi 700 dalam subjek Matematik. Skala pencapaian TIMSS 2019 bagi Matematik dan Sains ditetapkan kepada Aras Tertinggi dengan skor 625; Aras Tinggi (550); Aras Sederhana (skor 475) dan Aras Rendah (skor 400).
