KitaJaga app utilises NFT to promote charity. [Newspaper] (2021)
Abstract
KUALA LUMPUR: KitaJaga peer-to-peer (P2P) charity application today announced that it has started utilising a blockchain technology of non-fungible token (NFT) to promote charitable activities through gamification. The first project involving NFT is KitaJaga NFT campaign which was launched in early October. It is a four-week campaign to award 20 users with exclusive NFT artworks created by Malaysian artist Jiwo. Five users will be selected every week, on a first-come, first-served basis. Meanwhile, users who receive an NFT artwork from KitaJaga can resell it on Pentas IO or other marketplaces. Every time KitaJaga NFTs are traded, 40 per cent of the selling prices will be deducted as a royalty fee and it will be deposited into KitaJaga wallet as a donation, to cover operating expenses of the app.
