Abstract
Good Regulatory Practice (GRP) in Malaysia represents a systematic approach to developing, implementing, and reviewing regulations to ensure they are effective, transparent, and supportive of economic and social objectives. Anchored by the National Policy on the Development and Implementation of Regulations, GRP emphasises evidence‑based decision‑making, stakeholder consultation, regulatory impact analysis, and continuous review. Its implementation aims to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, improve compliance, and enhance public service delivery while safeguarding public interest. By institutionalising GRP across federal and state levels, Malaysia strengthens regulatory quality, promotes accountability and predictability, and supports a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable business environment aligned with international best practices.
