Abstract
Batik has economic value that can support industry managers, craftsmen, and traders. In several studies it was found that SMEs are still unfamiliar with the use of technology
in creating batik motifs. Whereas the market demands various designs of batik motifs in a relatively short time. This article discusses the development of D-Batik software as an
application to accelerate the creation of batik motifs. The method used to develop this application is the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with a prototyping model. Based on the results of trials on three groups of batik craftsmen in the Semarang, it is known that D-Batik can be easily coordinated by batik craftsmen who are still unfamiliar with technology and are able to produce design motifs with very high complexity. This is the advantage of the D-Batik application compared to the previous motif creator application.
